Tips Tuesday – Go Corporate!

Get your company involved in the Liver Life Walk! Creating a Corporate Liver Life Walk Team is a great way to build team spirit around the office, promote healthy living and to show the company’s community involvement at the same time. Hang posters around the office, pass out brochures and hold a registration drive in the cafeteria. Put together FUNdraising events to raise money for the team, such as a Coin War or sell a Jeans Day for a $1.

You can also request a Matching Gift form from your employer. The impact of your gift to the American Liver Foundation may be doubled or possibly tripled! According to a recent survey of nonprofit organizations by Robert L. Weiner Consulting, "29% of respondents reported raising over $250,000 in matching gift income in 2008. 63% raised over $50,000." Matching GIfts can account for a large part of fundraising - all you need to do is ask! Ezine Articles Matching Gift Information

  1. This is a great idea. People at my work organized a team for a fund raising/support event similar to Liver Life Walk. The team was always a huge success. There were potlucks with minimum donations, a chili and dessert contest that required a small donation to vote, and a BBQ. Two staff members brought their grill, provided the meat, and others brought sides. When people wanted recipes of the food, they had to pay $1 to the team for a copy (except, of course, for the secret award-winning recipes!).

This provided a great way for all staff to contribute without directly being on the team, either by cooking and/or eating.

  2. RC-when you can get a company involved there are so many ways to raise money for a good cause - while also building camaraderie among employees. The great thing too is that if everyone pitches in there is very little work for any one person and a lot of money can be raised very easily. Do you recall how much those events were able to raise?
